From 1964 to 1968, during their first four seasons, the original membership of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players made a series of historic recordings for RCA, including works central to the chamber music repertoire, as well as music by some of the day’s leading composers.
This last of four releases encompasses the contents of the Boston Symphony Chamber Players’ fourth commercial release, a single LP issued by RCA in 1970-music of Schubert, Milhaud, and Hindemith. Also included, as a bonus, is the ensemble’s recording of Louis Spohr’s Nonet in F for strings and winds, Opus 31, taped on February 1-2, 1967, but never previously released.
